What era of time did the Republican party start to become the party of the corrupt lawmakers for big business?

I would say Reagan because that's really when the US government started implementing what George H.W. Bush calls "Voodoo Economics" where the Government tries to trickle down wealth from the top. So it began in 1980-1981.
