Can you really sharpen knives with aluminum foil?

It does not sharpen, it hones. You can use it as a honing steel if one is not available but wouldn't use it for everyday tasks. I use this when I go camping if my knife is dull and need a quick fix. If you really need a sharp knife invest in a whetstone or standing knife sharpener.
