Does the dealer have to replace the catalytic converter on my 2003 Toyota Matrix?

Sorry to say you are stuck with it. There used to be an emissions law ( still could be) that if any emission related part failed within a certain mileage, the dealer would have to replace it. I want to say that it was 60,000 miles. But, with that many miles, go to Midas or something. Good Luck!
