If you had had the experience of hiding under the stairs during the bombing raids, or liberating one of the many camps, I doubt you would be able to forget so easily. Perhaps when the last remaining heroes have ped away you will have your wish that it becomes a forgotten piece of history, whilst they are alive they have every reason, and every right, to remember. At least it is now only a football match.
